Those are some lovely write-ups. Adore The Dame, must see more of The Dude and especially The Director (love Wuthering Heights). Glad you chose a Mexican classic for this entry (yes, that's right, if a movie takes place in Peru or Venezuela (like Up) it's automatically Mexican).

Javier has Aparajito in his hands (finally). Javier will review it pronto just for Ibbi.

Well, uh...interesting choices. Think you may have lost it with both McAdams and Hall. They're good, but in no way top 100 worthy.

"Beauty and the Beast", however, is worthy of a top TEN list. Truly one of the greatest animated films of all time, that one. Great summary.

Obviously I'm a genius, but the one I'm most familiar with is Christina Ricci, and I love her. I liked her when she was awkward better than the new sex-bomb, but I thought she was really awesome in Black Snake Moan. Like, top 10 worthy.

On the Waterfront is the one with 'I coulda been a contenda... I coulda had class', right? Love it. First time I heard that shit, I was like WOW, THIS IS BADASS. I was like nine though. Maybe it is badass. You never know. I was pretty smart for a 9 year old.

I love Ewan McGregor, big cock and all. I guess he's one of those guys that isn't afraid to show it off because he doesn't have any penis insecurities. I love him, even when he's clearly not trying very hard, just because he's charismatic and sexy enough to get away with it. See: Young Adam, Down with Love, even the Star Wars movies (He's my favorite part of the newer ones). And when he does try... Well dayum. I love his performance in Moulin Rouge. So much. That voice. *Dies*

My knowledge of Antonioni is limited to the song 'La Vie Boheme' in Rent where they say 'Antonioni Bertolucci Kurosawa Carmina Burana'... So big up, I guess.

I love Se7en and I don't think Fincher will ever top it. It's such a mess (in a good way) of fear, emotion, suspense and reality, despite sort of a far-fetched plot point. The realization that hits you when you realize who John Doe is and what he's doing is far more effective, for me, than that reveal in the other Spacey vehicle from the same year, The Usual Suspects. But, since he's all eager to win Oscars now, he'll never top it. Ever. What a douche.

Great post... Love the format!

"Christina Ricci is constantly proving herself to be one of the most diverse and challenging young leading ladies around."

Absolutely. Anne Hathaway can go suck a cock. She's no Christina.

I've never seen any works by Samira Makhmalbaf, but I'll be sure to check her out.

On The Waterfront is an amazing movie. "Hey, you wanna hear my philosophy of life? Do it to him before he does it to you." Words to live by.

Great post. Dukakis is a god. It's no easy feat to steal films from the "stars", but she seems to excel at it.
